You know the drill.
You promise to stop work at 5PM. It drifts to 6:47PM.
You tell yourself tonight’s the night you’ll be fully present with the kids. But somehow, bedtime happens without you. Again.
You finally sit down with your partner, ready to unwind. Maybe even finish that Netflix series you started three months ago.
Five minutes in… you’re out cold.
Or worse—you’re awake, but completely zoned out. Because your head is stuck in overdrive because there’s so much more you and the team could be doing.
Next day. You wake up, check in with your team.
They’re busy. They’ll get to it. They’ll try their best.
You offer to help—even though you shouldn’t have to (that’s why you pay them).
But it still feels like you’re carrying all the weight. Doing all the work.
I get it. I’ve been there.
And if this sounds familiar, here’s the hard truth: Your team isn’t operating at the level you need.
Forget profitability for a second—that’s a story for another day.
This is an accountability problem.
At one point, I had 21 people on payroll. Bloated. Inefficient. Hiring for the sake of it. Thinking more bodies would fix things.
Right now my team is lean and lethal— under 10 people, running a multi-million net profit machine.
Most businesses are bloated with dead weight—team members who don’t know what they’re doing.
That’s on you. You hired them lol.
Leadership drives performance.
Here’s 2 things I do to drive performance and profitability with my team, rock on and implement this week…
1. Monday Check-In → Friday Accountability
On Monday, check in with your senior team (whoever’s paid the most—that’s your leader).
Ask them:
-
What are your priorities this week?
-
What are your roadblocks?
-
Where do you need support?
Review this Friday at 12PM before you log off. No accountability? No progress.
2. 90-Day Plans for Leadership
Every leader (again, whoever’s paid the most in their area) must submit a 90-day plan detailing:
-
How they’ll grow their department
-
What numbers they’re improving
-
What they’re working on
If they can’t clearly articulate and never mind deliver on the plan they built themselves, they are in the wrong role—and you’re paying for it.
Remember: Your team builds the business.
You train, mentor, and manage the team to build the business.
Anyway, that's enough for today. I'm off to train.
Before I go…
More coming soon on the Lifestyle Entrepreneur Workshop—long story short, it's a two-day deep dive into building a high-profit, high-status, high-freedom business.
Suitable for:
-
Entrepreneurs who are tired of running in circles and want a business that actually fuels their lifestyle.
-
High performers who make money but don’t feel in control—too much stress, too much bloat, not enough leverage.
-
Business owners who want to scale smarter, cut the dead weight, and build a team that actually performs.
This is the first time I've done anything like this outside the fitness industry.
I’ve so much to share that will help your business.
Full details coming soon. Stay tuned.
Until next week!
