about phil

This is the part where most people either hire someone to write about them in an obvious way. Or they write in the 3rd person, and it sounds like a CV.

I’d rather you hear from me. Personally.

Who am I?

I’m an entrepreneur. Advisor. Strategist. Investor. Mentor.

But at the end of all of these things, I am a thinker.

I try my best every single day to think laterally. To move away from singular thinking, and pull from my experiences in life to give others the best perspective possible.

Thinking outside and inside the box.

Lateral Thinking

noun
“The solving of problems by an indirect and creative approach, typically through viewing the problem in a new light, drawing some many sources of potential solutions”

So when working, I try to see any problem through a variety of lenses and possible options.

If I connect the leading elements of my life from becoming diabetic at 16, to pre-eminent bodybuilder a few years later, to business owner, speaker, foodie, investor…

Thinking is how I got here today with you.

Few competitors graced the stage and won as diabetics, let alone became prominent bodybuilders. I was advised I’d have endless health complications, so I diligently watched my food intake and learned. I wanted to see how my body worked, and overshot. I was one of the biggest bodybuilders around, and graced the cover of magazines. I played into strengths (mass), cut hard (dieting wasn’t an issue for me), and relentlessly showcased the best symmetry for my frame. I ended up writing the world’s first encyclopedia on diabetes & muscle building – The Diabetic Muscle and Fitness Guide.
I built the opposite way to most. Hyper lean, retention focused, scaled slowly. In the consultancy & coaching space, few if any came close to what I built focusing on just one niche. Most in my shoes work 60+ frantic hour weeks while giving the impression they work ten and have it under control. I push myself to work 20 hours, and you’ll regularly find me shooting, fishing, or cooking on any weekday morning.
I realise my job isn’t a “good keynote,” it’s transformation. You can expect mic-drop moments, ideas, and businesses to be formed from my speech. I create hooks to grab attention, open loops that wait for answers, and analogies that make hard topics easily digestible. I took this worldwide – from digital marketing and entrepreneurship events to TedX – with keynotes that challenge the status quo, unlock possibilities, and shift identities.

As I love the wealth game, and employ internal and external due diligence. I’ve a deep rooted passion in all things entrepreneurship, which has found me on the board of companies, and expanded into a portfolio of watches, real estate, cars, and more. If there’s ROI and experience to be gleaned from it, I am all in. I’m looking to build wealth in a sustainable way that contains legacy elements to pass to others.

And listen, everybody could use more counsel. So if you’re reading this, I’m hoping we can get connected somehow soon.

Reach out, I’m an open book. Speaking of which…

Someone once asked me for a timeline of my life to date. If you’ve ever wanted to know more about me, I put it all on paper and it’s expandable below.

Best,
